Listing policy

How a product ends up on this site, what an unclaimed listing means, and how to get one taken down. The short version: ask, and it goes, within 48 hours.

Where listings come from

There are two routes into the index, and every page says which one it took.

  • Submitted and verified. Someone who can prove control of the domain submitted the product, either through the form or through an agent. Nothing publishes before the domain check passes.
  • Compiled from public information. We built the entry from the product’s own public website and from open datasets. Descriptions are written for this index rather than copied. Screenshots and logos are fetched once from the product’s own site and self-hosted.

We do not buy startup databases with republication restrictions, and we do not copy listings from other directories.

Unclaimed listings

A compiled entry is labelled unclaimed everywhere it appears. The label is not decoration: it tells a reader — and an assistant citing the page — that nobody at the company has confirmed a word of it. Unclaimed listings cannot use badges, cannot be flagged for sale, and are held to the same indexing threshold as everything else.

Claiming one

Claiming needs a one-time link sent to an address on the product’s own domain, or a meta tag or DNS TXT record. It takes about a minute and it costs nothing, ever. Claiming unlocks editing, the analytics for the page, badge access and the acquisition flag.

The removal promise

Ask and it goes

Email [email protected] from an address on the product’s domain with the listing URL. We remove it within 48 hours. There is no form to fill in, no retention offer, no “are you sure”, and we do not ask you to claim it first.

Removal means the page returns a 404 and the entry leaves the sitemap, the API, the MCP read tools and the newsletter. We keep a record of the removal request itself so the listing is not recreated by a later import.

Names and logos

Product names, logos and screenshots belong to their owners and appear here to identify the product being described — nominative use, nothing more. No endorsement is implied by a listing, a category placement or a position on a board. If a mark is being used in a way you object to, tell us and we will change or remove it.

Every listing links to the product’s own site, and that link is dofollow as a matter of editorial policy. It is never conditional on a link back to us, on embedding a badge, or on payment. Badges are optional and earned; if you embed one you choose the rel attribute yourself and we do not check for it.

Paid placements are the exception in the other direction: they are labelled and carry rel="sponsored nofollow". The rules for that are on the methodology page.
